Once you've decided on the wearing style, now it's a matter of making sure the Cisco 7945 headsets work properly, see how they exactly hook up:
1) Start by unboxing the headset and plug in the parts and accessories.
Unbox all the parts and accessories and plug each part into the back of the headset. Plug the other end of the USB cable into your computer (optional), also plug the power adapter into the wall. The EHS cable and connector cable will plug into your Cisco 7945 telephone see step 2 for full details.
2) Plug the EHS and handset cable into the back of the Cisco 7945 phone.
Plug the other end of the Cisco 7945 headset EHS adapter into the AUX port of the telephone. The other end of the connector cable should be plugged into the handset port.
3) Set the headset base into RHL mode and switch 4 position.
On the bottom of the Discover D900 base set the left hand switch down to the RHL setting. On the right hand side switch move it to the 4 position, starting from the bottom(5) moving it UP 1 click to the 4 position.
4) Make sure to enable hookswitch mode.
If your phone system administrator hasn't already done so have them enable the headset hookswitch control for your Cisco7945 telephone. Have them go to the Cisco unified communications manager admin application and go to device then select phone and locate the phone needing to modify. In the phone configuration window, select Enable for Headset Hookswitch Control.
Wired Headset Options:
When it comes to wired headsets the configuration is a little bit different, this will show you exactly how these headsets are compatible with the Cisco 7942 phone. You will have the choice between these 2 wearing styles.

Just like on the wireless headsets here's how these wired headsets will connect:
1) Plug the Cisco 7945 Headset Adapter cable into the headset port.
Plug the modular clip of the Cisco IP Phone 7945 Headset Adapter cable into the headset port of the telephone.
2) Connect the Discover headset and Cisco adapter cable together.
Connect the Discover wired headset together with the Cisco 7945 headset adapter cable.
3) Press the headset button on the Cisco phone.
Now to use your headset all you have to do is just press the headset button to engage the headset.
