3 Most Common Plantronics C054 Troubleshooting Tips

9 out of 10 times Plantronics C054 troubleshooting will fix your headset.

Did your Plantronics C054 wireless headset stop working all of a sudden? In this C054 troubleshooting guide, we’ll provide you 3 of the most common reasons your headset stopped working and what you can do to fix it.

Tip #1- Echo

If you’re hearing your voice back every time you speak or the caller on the other end says they can hear their own voice, this doesn’t mean your Plantronics C054 headset is broken. This means we need to balance the volumes between your desk phone, charging base and c054 headset.

First, you’ll want to turn your charging base upside down. On the bottom of the C054 charging base you’ll see A-G, ensure this is on setting A. Next you’ll have a speaker and microphone icon, ensure these are both on setting 2.

Next, turn your desk phone volume down to about 50 or 60%. The echo should now be gone and at this point. If you need to adjust your hearing volume, use the Plantronics headset to adjust your hearing volume up or down.

Tip #2- I can hear but can’t be heard

Depending on the telephone you have will depend on how you use your headset.

If you’re connecting to a telephone with a headset port, like Cisco for example. You’ll need to ensure your C054 charging base is on setting D (located on the bottom of your charging base). Once this is on D, you’ll need to turn your headset on then press the button of a HEADSET on your Cisco telephone.

If your telephone doesn’t have a headset port, you’ll want to ensure your Plantronics charging base is on setting A and you’ll be required to manually pick up and hang up your handset, unless you have the HL10 Handset Lifter, then this accessory will answer/end calls for you.

Tip #3: I have static in my headset

Static in your headset typically means we need to do a full reset or get the volumes adjusted properly.

Start by unplugging all the cords from the back of your C054 charging base and let them stay unplugged for about 10 seconds.

Next, on the bottom of your Plantronics charging base, set the microphone and speaker to number 2.

Plug all the cords back in and the static should be gone.
