If your Plantronics CS540 stopped charging there’s a few reasons of what could be happening.
#1- Try a full reset
Unplug the power from the charging base, then remove the battery and let both the battery and power adapter stay unplugged for 10 seconds. After 10 seconds re-plug both back in and you should now see the charging base start flashing green again under the battery light.
That’s it! Your battery should now be charging again.
#2- A new battery might be needed
On average you’ll need to replace your Plantronics CS540 battery every 1-3 years depending on how much you’re using the headset. You’ll start to notice it easily lasts a full day on a charge but will then start to degrade, until your CS540 will no longer charge.
Below is the replacement Plantronics C054 battery you’ll need if this is the case.
#3- The charging contacts could be bent
On the charging base where your headset charges is copper charging contacts. If these are bent at all your Plantronics CS540 will most likely stop charging. Try taking some pliers to bend the contacts back in place and see if this fixes it.
If not, unfortunately a new headset will need to be purchased as the charging base isn’t sold separate.
