Adjusting the hearing volume on a Plantronics CS540 can be done in three different ways. In this blog I’ll point out those three ways so that when it comes time to make a hearing volume adjustment, you’ll be on top of things.
LOCATION 1. Your Phone!
Raising or lowering the volume on your desk phone can cause your headset volume to increase or decrease. As a general rule of thumb, you want to set your phone volume about halfway. Thereafter, any need for higher or lower hearing volume should be regulated from the headset and not the phone.
LOCATION 2. Your Headset Earpiece.
Check out the image below to help you locate the headset earpiece hearing volume button. To increase your hearing volume, place your index finger on the button and move it upwards until it stops. Release and repeat the process until you’ve reached your desired hearing volume. To lower the hearing volume, move the button in a downwards direction. If wearing on the left ear, the process described above would be reversed. In other words, when wearing on the left ear, you’d move the button in an upwards direction to lower the hearing volume and downwards to raise the volume. Lastly, when you’ve reached the top or bottom, you’ll hear a multiple beep tone designed to notify you that there’s no additional adjustment available. A single tone is heard when adjustments are being made.
LOCATION 3. The bottom of the CS540 charging base.
If you turn the CS540 charging base upside down, you’ll see some red dials used to make adjustments. Find the dial that has a speaker icon near it as shown below. Dial clockwise to increase your hearing volume and dial counter-clockwise to lower your hearing volume. Again, this is the volume that you hear.
