Whether you’ve been using the Plantronics CS540 for a while or if you’re new to it, you might want to know how you mute the microphone.
Muting the microphone is helpful especially in situations such as:
- You’re on a call and you feel a cough or sneeze coming on
- You’re taking calls at your desk while chowing down that Ham Sandwich
- You experience some loud, unexpected noise that you don’t want your caller to hear such as Landscapers, Elevators, Printers, Phones ringing, people noise etc
- Someone walks up to you and starts talking when you’re on a phone call
These and other situations can make the mute feature on your CS540 headset invaluable.
NOTE: When you have your microphone muted, you’ll hear a quiet beep tone in the background. This discreet audible tone is to remind you that your microphone is muted.
Also, this same process works for the Plantronics CS540XD, CS545XD, Savi 740, Savi 745 and Savi 440.
Maybe you’re in need of some new headsets. If so, why not trade in your old headsets for credit towards new? Helps to lower your costs while doing a favor for Mother Earth.
