When you purchased your Plantronics CS540 wireless headset for use in your Office or Call Center, it wasn’t able to be used with a computer. That’s all changed with the introduction of the Plantronics APU-75 UC Adapter.
This Adapter now provides you with the added versatility of using your CS540 wireless headset with a computer.
This blog will walk you through the 5 steps needed to get you up and running and using your CS540 with a PC, Laptop or MAC.
Unplug the cord from the back of your Plantronics CS540 base as pictured above as well as unplug the other end of this cord from your telephone.
You may not be using a lifter, but if you are, unplug it as shown above.
If you’re currently using an Electronic Hookswitch Cable (EHS Cable) for answering calls when away from your desk, then unplug the EHS cable as shown above.
The end of the APU-75 cable can only go into the back of the CS540 base one way. This makes it easy to connect and impossible to hook up incorrectly.
Plug in the USB end of the APU-75 cable into your PC, Laptop or MAC computer.
NOTE: To use your CS540 headset for use with a desk phone, you’ll need to unplug the APU-75 cable and then reconnect your original cables.
If you don’t get audio from your CS540 wireless headset when connected to a computer, go into control panel and adjust your audio settings so that the Plantronics headset is set as your default device. If you still have issues, feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to assist.
